This video demonstrates the basic steps for an experienced technician to remove T12 or T8 fluorescent lightbulbs from an overhead light fixture and upgrade to Net Zero USA LED strips. First, you should always make sure the power to the unit is turned off before starting the conversion. Simply twist out the old bulbs and set them aside for recycling. Remove the ballast cover and then disconnect the ballast clip the power wires and remove the fluorescent driver. Now you're ready to install the LED driver. Next, install the LED junction board near one end of the fixture. Peel the adhesive backing off one of the LED strips and apply the strip to one side of the fixture. Apply the strip in as straight a line as possible. Then, starting on one end of the fixture, start drilling in the LED strip, working your way back the length of the strip. Then, repeat this process on the other side of the fixture. Now connect the driver to the power coming into the fixture. Put the ballast cover back on and make sure not to pinch any wires between the cover and the fixture. And don't forget to apply the warning sticker before closing the door. This sticker is a notice of modifications made to accommodate the fixture - LED by UL standards. Finally, turn the power back on to test the fixture. With a little practice, you should be able to convert a fixture in under six minutes.
